Mortar ridge swapped for a dry ridge kit on a Warrington semi
The last mortar-bedded part of a Warrington roof taken off and rebuilt as a ventilated dry ridge, with the half-round tiles refixed mechanically between two panelled slopes.

A tall Macclesfield stack carrying a bank of clay pots had lost its crown to moss and frost. We took it down, rebuilt it in matching brick, cast a new capping and reset every pot.
A dark single storey range behind a rendered Macclesfield house took two roof windows. Tiles came off, openings were trimmed and flashed, and the concrete tiles went back around the frames.
An older Liverpool roof with a long run of ridge had lost its bedding. We took the clay ridge tiles off, laid a ventilated roll the full length and refixed the tiles mechanically.
Both slopes of a Warrington gable end given screw-fixed dry verge caps and a matching apex cap, closing the tile edge over the new white bargeboards without any mortar.
A brick double garage in Warrington with a low hipped roof. The mortar along the ridge and hips had broken up, so we lifted the tiles, cleared the old bedding and reset the lines.
A detached house in Crewe where the bitumen felt under the tiles had torn and perished. We stripped the covering back, laid new breathable membrane and treated battens, and reinstated the tiles.

The low kitchen roof on a rendered Warrington house let water in whenever it rained hard. We stripped it, renewed the underlay, battens and leadwork, and re-covered it with new verge caps to the edge.

Age and long-term damp had finished the underlay, battens and lead on this Warrington roof. The affected section was stripped, rebuilt on new underlay and battens, and the lead renewed at the wall.
The old red clay ridge and hip tiles on this Warrington roof were sitting in mortar that had crumbled away. They came off and new grey ridge tiles went back on a mechanically clamped dry system.
Where two slopes met on this Warrington roof the old mortar valley had filled with moss and stopped draining. It was taken out and a preformed dry valley fitted, with new underlay and battens either side.
Water had been coming through a kitchen ceiling in Sale for some time. The hipped roof over it was stripped to the bare rafters, the timbers looked over, and the whole thing re-covered on new underlay and battens.

A wasp nest had built up under the tiles of a Warrington house, below the felt. We opened a section of roof to reach it, took the nest out and made the felt, battens and tiles good again.

Damp marks on a ceiling in Prestbury traced to cracked and slipped Welsh slates. We took the affected slope back to the timbers, laid new felt and treated battens, and relaid it in matching reclaimed slate.
The cement fillet around the base of this Warrington flue terminal had broken up and was letting water into the brickwork. We cut the crown back to sound material and re-flaunched the whole top.
The small curved roof over this Altrincham bay had worn through and was open where it met the rendered wall. We stripped the covering back, made the junction good and finished it weatherproof.
An old flat roof over a brick outbuilding in Warrington was letting water through in heavy rain. The deck had rotted, so it came off in full and we re-boarded and re-covered the whole roof.
Three pieces of work on one Blackpool roof: failing mortar raked out and replaced along the ridge and hips, the lead round the chimney made good, and both pots lifted and re-bedded in fresh mortar.
